2014: Volume 3

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ."
Ephesians 1:3

Letter from the Editor

I have to admit, Brethren, I was a mess as I was looking at Kirsten, my beautiful bride to be, on the 21st of June. For 30 months I have seen the hand of God move upon my life and Inspiration Ministries to the praise of His glory. The Lord has started and accomplished things in and through me that I would have never thought possible except for the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. And on my wedding day I cried tears of joy with a great sense of humility, seeing the faithfulness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. During the ceremony I pulled out my black and white journal from prison and read excerpts that included my prayer for the wife God had in store for me, “especially fashioned for me.” I was barely able to get out the words because I felt so blessed to be standing before this wonderful answer to prayer, this woman fashioned for me and this ministry.
My good friend, Anthony Ponds, and I used to talk about the grace of God and His favor in our lives while we were in prison. There were special times when we, along with our brothers Gonzalez, James, and Chino, would be sitting in comfortable chairs, shoes off, feet propped up, drinking coffee stunned by the fact that we were in prison. We would often say, “We’re in prison” not because we shouldn’t be there, but because God was so gracious to a bunch of felons like us, showering us with favor even when our sin and wrong-doing was so blatant for the world to see. The Lord saw fit to seek, save, and transform some ragamuffins like us. Praise God! Thank you, Jesus.
Brothers and Sisters, take the time to thank God for all He has bestowed on you, every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly places. He is at work in all of our lives for the praise of His glory. And for those who read this article and newsletter with an attitude like, “this couldn’t happen for me,” I want you to know that not only will God pour out His blessings and abundant life upon you, but He also wants to fill you with His Holy Spirit as a promise of His glorious salvation and your eternal inheritance in Christ.
We are blessed to be a part of Jesus’ work in this community and in your lives. We are honored by your responses and encouraged by your desire to grow in your relationship with Christ. We truly are in this work together, and if getting married has taught Kirsten and I anything, it is the fact that we are all part of the bride of Christ and Jesus desires to take us all home with Him. So, please, if you haven’t made a decision to accept Jesus Christ into your heart as Lord, today is the day of salvation and a great opportunity to join the family. Hallelujah!
Inspired by my Heavenly Inheritance,
