Letter from the Editor

It is with a glad heart that I write this month for the Inspiration newsletter because our Lord Jesus Christ has satisfied my weary soul, and He has set my gaze towards the high calling of God. Fall is coming quickly here at The Cupbearer Café, and we are excited about the move of God in this Auburn community. Thank you to those who have been praying, and we are honored to be co-labors with you in the cause of Christ.

Today we are celebrating the opportunity to go into the DeKalb County jail located just a couple blocks from the café. God has got us through the

first step of introductions and tours, and once the approval list is complete, we will start purposing program and service ideas. Praise God! Please be in prayer for the next steps in the ministry as we focus on the state prisons as well as transitional housing developments.

I recently spoke with Pastor Cary Freeman, who lives in Tallahassee, FL. He and is wife have been going into the prisons to minister for the last few years, and they came to Quincy Annex one Saturday while I was still there. God had just laid out the vision for Inspiration Ministries, and it seemed so big. During his sermon, Pastor Freeman said that if God calls us to ministry, then God was going to be the one to build it. I held on to that promise and we have seen the Lord build this ministry from nothing except a desire to serve Him with our whole hearts. We praise God because He continues to do the impossible.

It seems like the more people say that we can’t, or that this won’t work, God opens another door to administer the gospel of Christ. And even while we walk in the midst of this amazing work of God, there are scoffers who are never going to accept the fact that God is not a respecter of persons, but He continues to look for true worshippers who are willing to be obedient to the Holy Spirit. So here we are, resting faithfully in the will of God, trusting Him for our assurance and satisfaction, and fighting the good fight for the cause of Christ.

I encourage you to understand what Paul meant when he said that he was crucified with Christ, and that he no longer lived, but it was Christ that lived in him (Galatians 2:20) What can man do to us when it is Christ living in us and through us? We are dead men essentially: signed, sealed, and Heaven bound. Let Jesus be your joy and strength. Without Him we are nothing, but with Him we are more than conquers! We are overcomers together!

Be inspired because He lives,

  • robert miller"A year ago my world was shifted. I was discouraged, alone, and in need of something/someone to embrace me. It would be pious to say, “All I needed was the assurance that the Lord was with me,” because reality is sometimes you don’t feel that more

  • david owen"The newsletter is an integral part of my daily spiritual walk in prison. I don’t say that lightly and here’s why: “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV). The newsletter is primarily written by prisoners and ex-prisoners for more
