2014: Volume 3

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 1 John 3:1

November, Issue 11

Letter from the Editor

I stand, I stand in awe of You…I could barely get the words out through the tears as Greg and I sang at Inspiration Fellowship on October 30th at the Cupbearer Café. That’s right, Brethren, I am spending this weekend with none other than the Minstrel Minister himself, Greg Lamoureux. If you have been keeping up with Greg’s articles, you can see that God has taken him around the country in the fourteen months since his release. It was July of 2011 the last time I saw Greg. God truly has done miraculous things in our lives and what a trip down memory lane we have taken with the “Do you remember?” stories.

The emotion so easily comes rushing back because I can’t help but think about how God has made His grace, vision, & provision so evident. And following close behind my feelings of awe for Jesus Christ, are my feelings for you, my brothers and sisters behind those walls. I can’t forget about my time in prison just three years ago, and to be honest, I don’t have any desire to. The Lord taught me about His love and about the love of true brothers. I count Greg as one of them. And many of you reading this newsletter are realizing that you are part of God’s chosen few who are going to impact this world for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We can only accomplish that when we stay connect to God and to one another. Church, I pray that as you hold this newsletter you realize that we are in this together. Inspiration Ministries is not a third-party ministry trying to make you feel good, but we are interested in being directly involved in your lives, so that you feel God and come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

This November issue is reaching a record number 3,200 inmates around the country, and we are so blessed to be a part of your lives. As you read, it may be with the thought that you are just a number in the midst of that 3,200, but I want you to know that God loves you more than you could ever know, described well in the song He knows my Name, which we sang so often at Quincy Annex.

He knows my name.

He knows my every thought.

He sees each tear that falls,

And He hears me when I call.

Church, allow God to do an inventory in your soul and determine for you where you have gaps that lack salvation, restoration, and completion. Let us be determined together that Jesus alone is our Lord and that in Him we will be fully satisfied. Lord Jesus, please fill the gaps in my life that desperately need You to be in full control. I look to You for purpose and identity. In Jesus name, Amen.

In the midst of a world system that reminds us each day of our present circumstances, God wants to remind us exactly who we are…His children!

Are there any Doctors in the House?

It was 2011, a few weeks before my release from Franklin CI in Florida that the Holy Spirit prompted me to engage with Christopher Bachmann. If you have been around me, you know that I am a bit charismatic in my worship. I am a jumper, hand-raiser, and praise-shouter. The Spirit directed me to Chris because he was excited about the things of God. So, we connected and I told him a little about Inspiration and said he would hear from me when I got out.

We are blessed to count Chris as an Ambassador for Christ in Chains and fellow workman for Inspiration for almost three years. In my getting to know Chris, he has shared some special opportunities that the Lord has allowed him to complete in his incarceration. It has been amazing to see his transcripts for the college Bible courses he has completed on route to obtaining not only his bachelor and master degree, but also his doctorate.

In prison and in the free world, we live in a culture where people assign themselves titles such as President, Preacher, Prophet, Doctor, and Director based on a certain quality or experience when we know that it is only the Spirit of God that can call and ordain a man or woman into His position. With that in mind, Inspiration Ministries is honored to confirm the call of God on Christopher Bachmann’s life in receiving his Doctor of Biblical Studies degree. Chris has upheld great integrity in his relationship with Christ, and is committed to sharing the Gospel. In this issue, you can read a bit more about his educational journey, and we encourage you to seek God to fulfill the calling He has put on your life!

Always inspired by Him,

Andrew L. Foster

  • robert miller"A year ago my world was shifted. I was discouraged, alone, and in need of something/someone to embrace me. It would be pious to say, “All I needed was the assurance that the Lord was with me,” because reality is sometimes you don’t feel that more

  • david owen"The newsletter is an integral part of my daily spiritual walk in prison. I don’t say that lightly and here’s why: “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV). The newsletter is primarily written by prisoners and ex-prisoners for more
