2015: Volume 4

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:5a

Letter from the Editor

Welcome, Brothers and Sisters, to 2015! Are you excited for a new year? Do you sense in your spirit that the Lord wants to do something new and fresh in your life? We often refer to the coming of Jesus when He is going to come and make all things new; however, let me encourage you that Jesus is making things new every day in our hearts, communities, & families. Do you realize there are people around you in your dorm or work place that don’t have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, but by the time the ball drops for 2016, their names are going to be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Hallelujah! How awesome is that! And what a privilege we have to be called to the ministry of reconciliation between unbelievers and our redeeming God.

Inspiration Ministries is going to hit the ground running this year. We have a new manager for the Cupbearer Café, Sam Helton. We have finished our 1st remodel of the Discipleship Floor with more to come this year. We have meetings scheduled in the next couple months in regards to transitional housing, workforce development, and education. It is an exciting time. And above all of that for this director is the fact that my wife, Kirsten, is due to have our first child, LillyAnn Michelle Foster, at the end of March. Just as I have seen God be my ultimate Father, I pray that I can do the same for my daughter.

Brethren, we need your prayers in this new year with some monumental things going on with Inspiration Ministries. These are things that build a foundation for effective ministry for many years to come. Pray with us as we daily submit this ministry to the Lord, and are led by the Holy Spirit to allow His plans to be our plans.

I am excited also to hear more from our brothers who have transitioned from prison to being active in the Kingdom work on this side of the wall. Expect great testimonies from Dan Evans, our Minstrel Minister, Greg Lamoureux, Dennis Gerbers, and David Owen.

In 2015 let us celebrate every waking moment by giving glory to God through our lives and ministries. Don’t let an opportunity pass you by to share the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are in this work together, Brethren, and we are here with you. Let’s allow Jesus to take the wheel of our lives this year and direct them into a place to be most effective for Him! Amen.

Inspired to surrender 2015 to Jesus

  • david owen"The newsletter is an integral part of my daily spiritual walk in prison. I don’t say that lightly and here’s why: “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV).
