2015: Volume 4

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10

Letter from the Editor

We are all praying that as you head into this fall and winter season, you may be filled with the peace that surpasses all understanding which can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Even as we minister to folks daily that have confessed to hit rockbottom, it’s interesting to see how many still do not want to take the step to accept and trust Christ. Often the results include their definition of rock-bottom looking like a walk in the park once they find themselves truly at the bottom of the pit. The Lord has been gracious to give us opportunities to share the Gospel in our DeKalb County community. We are humbled to be rejoicing with the angels as we saw a number of folks accept Jesus into their hearts during our Free Fall Fair outreach.

Every fall Auburn plays host to one of the biggest fairs in the state. Overnight the downtown turns into endless games, rides, and food vendors. It is pretty incredible to see the transformation. Fair workers from across the country show up Sunday to set up, and we have been welcoming them with open arms, a warm meal, and the message of salvation. This year we were blessed to feed 120 people, but the best part came from testimonies where decisions were made for Christ right there on the street. At the end of the day, one of the leaders, Jason Hendricks, told me that 10 souls were added to the Kingdom! Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus! This outreach has become a staple around here for the past three years, and we are excited to have it on our calendar for next year already.

Speaking of getting ready for next year, we are thrilled to welcome back Carla Boggs to the Inspiration team as the Director of Operations. In 2015 we saw the Lord pour out His spirit and bring many people under our roof for ministry. Carla’s focus will be women’s ministry as well as helping grow Inspiration so that we can be more effective at reaching others for Christ. Also, with the Cupbearer Café and Upword Living Christian Bookstore both doing well, we have hired Alisha Getts to help manage and serve customers. It has been an awesome blessing to have the ability to expand the team with people that love Jesus. Our hope is that with the added support, we are able to be more flexible so that we can pray with and minister to those in whom the Lord brings.

This weekend I have the privilege of speaking at my home church, New Hope. It may be a new message for them, but a familiar one to me as I remind us to never forget the joy of our salvation. It is that remembrance that inspires me to point others to Jesus Christ just as others did for me. Just take minute to remember your salvation…the cost, Who paid it, and Who will keep you.

Inspired by a Savior willing to change us, Andrew L. Foster  Inspiration Ministries, Director
