Our programs’ emphasis on restoring community is the key to inspiring life-changing transformation for people exiting prison and/or battling addiction. We have a 0% recidivism rate for graduates living in supportive housing and a 10% recidivism rate overall for program graduates. This unprecedented transformational program happens within a safe space filled with people who really get it—because we’ve been there, and we know it isn’t easy.
People can’t heal if they aren’t a part of services appropriate for their struggle. Without trauma-informed care, the root issues in people’s lives are rarely discovered. And without substance abuse treatment, it’s unrealistic to think that people can quit or change. In fact, nearly 75% of all people coming out of incarceration will return within three years and 85% of all incarcerated individuals struggle with addiction. Estimates of 7.7 million American adults suffer from PTSD, and many of these individuals use drugs or alcohol to cope with their symptoms. Without treating these issues with therapy and addiction services, people are likely to drop out of treatment or relapse into substance abuse or mental illness even after completing the program.
